What is Curiometric?

curio: a strange and interesting object; something that evokes curiosity. Think “curio cabinet.”

metric: relating to measurement; here, a reference to geometric and parametric design.

parametric: a method of design where a form is defined by adjustable measurements, proportions, or relationships rather than drawn as a fixed shape.

Curiometric is about making curious little objects that engage the senses and encourage mindfulness or focus. The project was born out of a personal need to get out of my head and into the present moment.

I'm curious to explore what shapes people find interesting, satisfying, or strangely compelling.

Who? Where?

Everything is made by me in this log house in Ontario, Canada.

I have a wide array of skills and interests, with a degree in Fine Arts specializing in sculpture and a degree in Environmental Science specializing in Geology. I like animals, nature, fossils, large bodies of water, and making things.

Over the years I've done painting, linocut, music, and countless other creative things, but currently I'm enjoying making things out of wood with the help of my CNC router.

I couldn't do anything without the help of my trusty dog and cat.
